‘Inveresk’ 26 Coventry Rd Strathfield

‘Inveresk’ 26 Coventry Rd Strathfield, a Federation house, was built for George Begg Vickery in 1906. The subdivision of part of the grounds of ‘Inveresk’ created the popular park in its name. Vickery was the son of the Hon. Ebenezer Vickery MLC and was manager of many of the Vickery businesses, particularly coal mining. Other members of the Vickery family made their home in Strathfield in the early 20th Century at ‘Tiptree’, ‘Lauriston’ and ‘Strathfield House’. Click here for a more detailed history on ‘Inveresk’.
