20 Arthur Street is located on the corner of Bates Street Strathfield. The house was built after World War II and is a simple style brick bungalow sited within an extensive garden setting.
The house was built in 1946 for its owners Matthew and Joy Gay for an estimated cost of £1450. The house was built by local builder H W Eagle, Newton Road Strathfield. Ownership of the house transferred by 1948 to Mrs Helen Campbell. By 1954, the house was owned by Jeffrey Nigel Love (d.2016), company director. He was the son of Nigel Love, famed aviator, flour miller and founder of N B Love Industries (now Weston Milling), a long term resident of Strathfield.
