The article on the former Inglemere Private Hospital Abbotsford Road Homebush receives considerable views and comments. I have done more research on this property and will be publishing a more detailed history fairly soon.
However, I was wondering if anyone has any historic photos of this property that I could use?
Lastly, the hospital was sold in 1962. Does anyone have information on its use subsequently? I remember it being the Crescent Nursing Home, however I don’t have much information this period of use.

Hi Cathy. I recently received my 2x great grandmother’s death certificate which listed her place of death as being Homebush Road, Strathfield in October 1935, from senility, aged 87. Until then I’d thought that she had died at her daughter’s house in Punchbowl as this was where the funeral was departing from. Was Inglemere the only hospital in Homebush Road at this time, and did the hospital take all patients prior to becoming a maternity service in 1937? The doctor who last saw her was RJ Malcolm. I don’t know if this name has come up in your research.
Thanks so much,
Glenn

Glenn, it is likely to be Inglemere. Inglemere was not only a maternity hospital, it did provide a wider range of hospital services. I will do some further checking. I just published a newsletter on Inglemere which discusses its history. Cathy
