Homebush Hotel

by Cathy Jones

The Homebush Hotel was located on the corner of Parramatta Road and Underwood Road Homebush and was built in 1927.  In 1934, Tooth & Co acquired the hotel. The hotel was one of three hotels on Parramatta Road including the Wentworth Hotel and Horse and Jockey.  The hotel was demolished in the early 2000s.

  1. Good morning  Thank you for your historical articles about Strathfield. I would like to make a request.  My grandparents were Sidney (Sid) and Amy Ainsworth, who, in the early 1900’s, moved from Burwood to The Broadway where they owned a butcher shop and later extended into the shop next door and ran a “ham and beef” shop. In his early life, Sid was a cab driver in Burwood. Could you please research my grandparents lives. Regards Helen Cheetham
