Mayor of Strathfield 1916, 1928, 1929, .1930, 1931 and 1932
Firth served as an Alderman on Strathfield Council from 1911 to 1947. He was first elected at an ordinary elected in February 1911 representing the Homebush Ward.
He was elected Mayor in 1916, 1928, 1929, .1930, 1931 and 1932. He was President of ·the Local Government Association of New South Wales from 1940 to 1944.
He died in 1970 aged 93 years.
