38 Newton Rd Strathfield

38 Newton Road Strathfield was a two storey blond brick house with a hipped glazed terra cotta tiled roof built in 1940.

Approval was granted in May 1940 to Norman Milton Marshall (1907-1984) to construct a brick house at the estimated value of £1000. Marshall was a Master Builder.  From the 1930s to 1960’s he built many houses in Strathfield Including streets such as Newton Rd, Myrna, Ravenna, Strathlora, High Street, Fraser Street, Barker Rd, Chalmers Rd and South Street.

In January 1941, Marshall sold the property to William John Moran, an engineer, for £1720. The house was later owned by Helen and Reginald Weedon, a company director.
