Strathfield Motel

In response to a request for information about the Strathfield Motel on Albert Road Strathfield.  I can’t find much information, except that it was built c.1967 and demolished in 1995.  The street address was 22 Albert Road Strathfield.  In 1995, the Motel and other adjacent properties were acquired on Albert Road and Churchill Avenue and demolished. Meriton Apartments are built on this site.

The photo below is a photo of the Strathfield Town Centre in 1972, with the location of the Motel indicated on the map.  It appears that this building was the highest building in Strathfield in its day.

If anyone has any other photos they wish to share, please contact me at cathy.jones@optusnet.com.au

  1. Hi Cathy

I was just wondering if anyone had any further information on Charles Slatyer (the architect) of 25 Homebush Road and his wife Elsie Slatyer nee Todman. Thank you.

    1. Stephanie. I assume you are looking for information on Charles Slatyer and his wife Elsie Todman. There is some information on this site on Slatyer and the Todman family. You could join Ancestry where there may be documents or someone may have done a family tree. Trove is always useful, especially old newspapers for family notices and articles etc. Regards, Cathy
