An exhibition celebrating Strathfield Council’s 140 anniversary was held at the Strathfield Library & Innovation Hub from 28 May to 27 July 2025. The exhibition opened by the Mayor Cr John-Paul Baladi on Thursday 5 June 2025, 6pm. The exhibition was a collaboration between Strathfield Council and the Strathfield-Homebush Historical Society.
The Municipality of Strathfield was incorporated 140 years ago on 2 June 1885. Since 1885, Strathfield district has grown from a semi-rural settlement of only 600 people to a district of about 50,000 in 2025. The exhibition steps back in time and explores the journey of the Strathfield district over 140 years. Our anniversary exhibition showcases the rich heritage, diverse communities and transformative moments that have shaped the Strathfield district.
