Slater Reserve is located on the corner of Bridge Road and Mackenzie Street Homebush.  The reserve is a small triangular shape piece of land which has frontages on both Bridge Road and Mackenzie Street.

The reserve is located on the original 1803 grant of Crown Land to Simeon Lord.  This land together with other grants was acquired and subdivided in 1878 as the ‘Village of Homebush’ estate.  This land is located on part Lot 15, Section 15 of the Estate.  This land was transferred into December 1936 from Francis Cottam to Strathfield Council.

Strathfield Council adopted the name ‘Slater Reserve’ in February 1939.  It is named after Arthur Slater (d.1957).  Slater served as an Alderman on Strathfield Council from 1934-1941.
