‘Walthamstowe’ was built c.1878. It was the residence of Cornelius Frank Edwards, an ironmonger. Following his death in 1900, the property was purchased by William Beaumont, owner of ‘Presteign’ (located next to ‘Walthamstowe’). Beaumont died in 1904 and Patrick Foley, a dentist, became the owner of the house, which he renamed ‘Eurolie’. He died in 1923 and the house was acquired for a short period by real estate agent, Leslie Harvey Orton. The Department of Railways resumed the property in late 1923 in order to expand the Strathfield Rail Station. The house was demolished at the same time as ‘Silwood’.
