‘Shawlands’ 53 Pomeroy Street Homebush is an interwar style cottage built 1917-1918, likely to be the owner Eustace Maurice Goldspring, a builder, who sold the house presumably after completion in 1918. The house was named ‘Shawlands’.

The house was originally numbered 8 Pomeroy Street Homebush.  It was originally located in Homebush Council.  This Council was merged with Strathfield Council in 1947.  The house was renumbered in 1964 as 53 Pomeroy Street.
