‘Lowanna’ 82 Redmyre Road Strathfield is a modified interwar bungalow. It is built on the 1810 James Wilshire land grant, which was first subdivided as the Redmire Estate in 1867. Part of this estate was developed as the Bushy Hill Estate, which was offered for sale in 1880.
The house was built in 1922. The property owner, builder Wallace Reginald Robins lodged an application to build a new brick bungalow of more than five rooms at Redmyre Road at estimated cost of £1230. This was approved on April 4 1922. The house was named ‘Lowanna’. The house was originally numbered 60 Redmyre Road but was renumbered in 1966 as 82 Redmyre Road.
In May 1929, the property was transferred to Anne Evelyn Lord, wife of Arthur Lord, accountant for £2200. In February 1952, the property transferred from the estate of Anne Lord to Ruby Hobson for £5200.
