This photo shows road and kerb construction of Redmyre Road in 1959. The photo is facing towards the Strathfield Town Centre and would have been taken near the intersection of Homebush and Redmyre Roads. Redmyre Road is a heritage conservation area and most of the buildings have not altered since this time. The Brush Box (Lophostemon confertus ) street trees are well established and remain a significant feature of the streetscape of Redmyre Road.

I’m guessing this photo is looking west with the Strathfield Council Chambers / Town Hall at the far end? Fascinating to see how the trees were pruned!
